Before joining DCM as a General Partner, Jason co-founded Sling Media, the pioneering digital media and device company which was acquired by EchoStar.  Among its many accolades, Sling Media received an Emmy Award for the Slingbox, the device that first introduced the concept of placeshifting.  At Sling Media, Jason acted as EVP of Business Development, EVP of Marketing, and CFO at various points in the company’s evolution of Sling Media. Among other things, Jason led the establishment of distribution and development partnerships with global television, broadband and mobile operators. Prior to co-founding Sling Media, Jason acted as Partner in id8 Group Holdings, Inc where he advised global leading companies on product and business strategy. Jason joined id8 Group after spending several years with The Boston Consulting Group (BCG).  Jason received B.A. in Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley and a M.B.A. and J.D. from the University of Virginia.

Michael Lee is the Managing Partner for Rogers Venture Partners where he and his team invest in great teams building innovative companies, with a focus on Mobile services and infrastructure, Cloud, Internet, and Digital Media. Prior to this, he has served as Chief Strategy Officer for Rogers Communications where he was responsible for strategy development, business development, and strategic partner management for the Rogers Communications group of companies, which include Rogers Cable, Rogers Wireless and Rogers Media. Mr. Lee also held the roles of VP, Strategy and Development; and VP Product Management at Rogers Cable. Previous to joining Rogers, Michael was a founder – entrepreneur in two technology companies.

As Chief Revenue Officer of OpenX, Jason is responsible for strategic partnerships, publisher network development, supply and demand relationships for OpenX Market, and all forms of monetization/revenue.

Prior to OpenX, Jason was a Senior Vice President at Claria, a behavioral marketing pioneer. Prior to Claria, he was a Vice President at GoTo.com/Overture/Yahoo! (Overture) for six years, where he built and led the business development/affiliate team responsible for developing, executing and managing all of that company’s paid search partnerships and global strategic relationships, helping the company evolve from a destination site to the largest distributed search network on the Internet, generating $1.5B+ in annual revenues. Before Overture, Jason co-founded an affinity-based ecommerce company, CU Shopper, that developed and distributed co-branded shopping portals to more than 100 credit unions nationwide, and was an early team member at EarthLink Network.

Leo is a recognized expert in user interface design, voice recognition technology, automated content recognition, consumer electronics device design and cable television technology.  He has 30 years of experience in high technology company development and has led, as CEO and CTO, the development of numerous technology startups, including Active Video Networks (formerly ICTV) and Dotcast (settop and national media distribution system provider to MovieBeam) where he was the founder of both companies.  Leo has been a senior technical consultant to Google, Microsoft, and Goldman Sachs, and has considerable intellectual property development experience.  He holds numerous US and international patents in many areas of technology and has served as an expert witness for high-profile patent litigation cases.

Allan McLennan is Founder, President and Chief Analyst with PADEM Group.

A pioneer and established market technology executive, as well as industry analyst in next generation innovations and market capitalization deployments in the distribution and consumption of digital media and data services worldwide, Allan is currently contributing to the advancement of key offerings in ACR, RTB, iTV and overall revision of the media data measurement model being explored today and has participated in the creation/innovation, packaged and/or sold multiple new offerings throughout the world in 17 countries with close to a billion households. Allan is a recognized category, marketing and management expert in broadband digital media, video, media on-demand and mobile migration enabling him to work with global media and technology companies such as Microsoft, TIVO, COMCAST, APPLE, Universal, Disney and more on projects involving the advancement of IP/digital media distribution. In addition to founding the PADEM Group – Digital Media, he has in his career developed numerous IP/media industry “firsts,” contributed to over seven market advancing patents (EPG remote DVR access/targeted advertising), co-founded successful market shaping companies as well as held corporate positions such as the founding AMI divisional president of the US publicly traded entertainment data analytics corporation – RENTRAK (NASDAQ: RENT), serving 100% of the studio and network marketplace.

Ashley’s career has included manufacturing of components, electronics, entrepreneurial start-ups, and running a media practice, all coupled with over 10 years living and working in Europe, Asia and Central America. With a background in finance, she has landed in digital advertising due to her love of technology and ability to navigate and scale new channels to market. She most recently led the iTV practice at Digitas New York and the Global Samsung.com business. Leveraging her legacy building scalable advertising solutions in emerging channels like Mobile and Video Games, Ashley founded Furious Minds in May 2012, which is an ad tech collective of talent to provide, consulting, advisory and monetization strategies for companies whose revenue streams are advertising related or live within the converged ecosystem of TV 2.0. Furious Minds is intended to be a platform to lead by example to get more women in technology, on boards and funded. She lives in NYC and practices what she preaches; in her living room is an HDMI hub, connected to 5 OTT devices and her Samsung Smart TV.

Chris Falkner is the Vice President of Advanced Advertising Technology and Operations for NBCUniversal. He leads NBCUniversal’s efforts in interactive television, addressable advertising, time-shifted viewing, VOD, and new viewership metrics.

Prior to leading NBCUniversal’s advanced advertising efforts, Falkner was the Director of Pricing and Planning for Bravo, Chiller, Sleuth, and Universal HD. He joined NBCUniversal in 1999 and held numerous positions of increasing responsibility at CNBC, CNBC.com, Bravo, and NBC Ad Sales.

Falkner began his career with General Electric at GE Medical Systems, where he was part of the prestigious Edison Engineering Program and earned a patent for Computed Tomography systems. After graduating from the program, he worked for two years as an auditor for the GE Audit Staff.

Falkner is a member of the IAB’s Leadership Council and serves as the Co-Chair of its Interactive TV Committee.

Falkner received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame.
